Kim Kohn
Founder of e-Motion Consulting
Flying solo, aged 15 over my parents’ house marked the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of flight and engineering excellence — a journey that continues to reach new altitudes.
With over 17 years of experience in active GA, aerospace engineering, system development, flight testing and certification activities, I created a proven record of achievement across the eVTOL and advanced air mobility sector.
As former Chief Test Engineer, Remote Test Pilot, and Technical Product Manager for a crew carrying eVTOL aircraft fleet within a well-respected eVTOL business, I have planned and executed complex flight test programs for cutting-edge electric aircraft — from early development and vehicle design stages to certification readiness. In constant pursuit of achieving greater system symphony, greater efficiency and developing the better product, I specifically value the trust I received and the dynamics around conducting multiple first flights during my service in remote piloted configuration of crew carrying, eVTOL of up to 1000 kg TOM.
After 7 years and a vast breadth of deep insights and knowledge building within this previous venture, I decided to freelance in this wonderful and dynamic industry.
Holding a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering (Aircraft Design) and multiple Pilot and UAV licenses, I combine deep technical understanding with operational precision and instructional expertise gained through academic and industrial leadership roles. Including as Associate Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering at the University of the West of England, Bristol.
Through e-Motion Consulting, I now combine those abilities and freelance internationally — offering Flight / Test - Engineering, and knowledge-transfer services to aerospace startups, OEMs, and educational institutions. My passion lies in bridging the gap between theory and practice within the advanced air mobility technology sector. I strive in a flight test environment, creating tangible vehicle information and incorporating its learnings within engineering, paving the road to certify the next generation advanced air mobility.
